Mr. Poirier is the founder and director of Argus Research Group. Furthermore, he is a passionate and dedicated safety & risk advisor, and a private investigative consultant who has been heavily involved in the rail infrastructure for almost a decade.
He is a Certified P.E.A.C.E Investigative Interviewer (CPII), a Community and Workplace Traumatologist (TITC-CWT), a Certified Human Trafficking Investigator (CHTI), and he has also completed training in Mental Health First Aid (MHFA), and MHFA for adults who interact with youth. Finally, he is also trained in situational awareness and is a Situation Awareness Specialist - Advanced Practitioner (SAS-AP)
Mr. Poirier has been involved in service of process activities, as well as surveillance and research related to insurance and corporate investigations.
He has lead incident investigations, and provided consultations to operations staff, and ground crews in some of Ontario's largest and busiest rail corridors. He has also assisted with, and helped coordinate various SIU Inquiries to help locate and interview witnesses regarding motor vehicle incidents, and violent physical altercations. Mr. Poirier also investigates workplace incidents related to harassment, violence and intimidation, fraud, and misconduct.
While continuing his education and working as an investigator, and HSE Advisor, Mr. Poirier has also gained experience as an operational member in several specialty units, including ground search and rescue while volunteering with one of Ontario’s most recognized Volunteer Search and Rescue organizations.
Mr. Poirier’s focus is providing support, and services where he can make a positive impact. While employing the use of some of the most reliable systems, and ethical methods in the industry. These areas include but are not limited to; private investigations, incident investigations, health and safety, and risk management.

Bruce Pitt-Payne honed his skills as a major crime investigator, interview specialist and advisor over his 26 year career with the Royal Canadian Mounted Police. He is a subject-matter-expert on investigative techniques including interviewing adults (witnesses and suspects) and children. For several years he was the Program Manager of Investigative Interviewing Training for the RCMP in British Columbia where he was instrumental in designing the RCMP Phased Interview Model which is the P.E.A.C.E. Model of Interviewing after an evolutionary adaptation to Canadian legal and ethical standards.
Since retirement from the RCMP, Bruce has dedicated his time to consulting and teaching both public and private sector organizations the science/art of investigative interviewing. He has designed the curriculum for and presented investigative interviewing to agencies such as: The Justice Institute of BC, Metro Vancouver Transit Police, The RCMP, The Professional Investigators Association of BC, The Independent Investigations Office of BC, Seattle Police Department, BC SPCA, UBC Security, The Manufacturing Safety Alliance of BC, and ICBC. He is the Canadian associate for Forensic Interview Solutions.
He and his family live in Maple Ridge, B.C. with their Boston Terrier Billy and Frenchton Murphy. Bruce enjoys playing guitar and recording music in his home studio. He is a licensed Private Investigator in B.C.

Legal services includes defending, representing, advocating and providing legal advice for clients in small claims court, employment law, human rights issues, landlord and tenant issues, disciplinary hearings and other provincial and federal tribunal matters, minor criminal matters (summary conviction) and statutes under the Provincial Offences Act (including traffic offences) and immigration law defense.
Mr. Presner is also a licensed Private Investigator. Additionally, Defend-it Legal Services P.C. is a licensed Private Investigative Agency. Services includes process serving of court/legal documents, skip tracing, computer and internal investigations by our licensed Private Investigators.
An online Instructor for the Ontario College of Business and Law located in Mississauga, Ontario. Mr. Presner teaches the Private Investigator Certificate course under the licensing requirements of the Ministry of Community Safety & Correction Services as a Private Investigator pursuant to the Training & Testing Regulation of the Private Security & Investigative Services Act, 2005.
In early 2018, he graduated from Humber College in the Immigration Consultant program and received Honours. In 2016, he graduated in the Paralegal Studies program at Centennial College and received Honours. In 2014, a joint-major Bachelor of Arts degree was obtained at Trent University for Computer Information Systems and Sociology.
In 2019, he received the Alumnus of Distinction from the Centennial College School of Business for recognition of significant community involvement and the achievement of a high level of career success.
Retired from the Durham Regional Police Service with over 27 years enforcing federal, provincial and municipal by-laws within the Regional Municipality of Durham in the uniform and plain-clothes capacities. While in the Detective Constable role, his specialization was investigating computer-related crimes, frauds and sexual assaults.
He is passionate about volunteerism and helping others in need. Appointed as the President of the Rotary Club of Pickering for a two-year term from 2014 to 2016. His mandate was to have an inclusive, progressive and diverse Rotary Club that is reflective and representative of the community. He currently holds the title of Past-President.
